The National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration to reinstate $2.75 billion in digital equity grant funding, which President Donald Trump cancelled months after it was appropriated. NDIA, an Ohio-based nonprofit that was awarded $25.7 million, argues that the termination of the Digital Equity Act Competitive Grant Program is unconstitutional, violates the separation of powers, and defies Congress's will. The Trump administration had justified pulling the funding by describing the program as unconstitutional and based on impermissible and unconstitutional racial preferences and woke handouts. The lawsuit seeks to allow NDIA to resume its Digital Navigator + program, which aimed to provide digital skills to 30,000 people across 11 states.
