Sentinel The Department of Homeland Security's Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) has been offering employees deferred resignation and other separation incentives since the summer to reduce its workforce. This is a renewed effort after initial plans for much deeper staff cuts were put on hold due to significant pushback from stakeholders concerned about dangerous intelligence gaps. The I&A now aims to reduce its staff to around 500 people, down from about 1,000 earlier this year, as part of a restructuring effort.
